The capabilities of the seven pillars of marketing success can be assessed for different businesses between one (low growth) and five (high growth) using the digital growth benchmark analysis presented in the Executive Summary of this report.

The results of the businesses in our survey show that, on all pillars, more than half of the businesses were evaluated at the lowest level of 1 to 2, which shows a clear area for improvement. For the situation, for small and medium enterprises with limited resources, we recommend that level 3 is an appropriate aspiration for competition. For businesses with a large digital contribution where online customers and sales are critical to their success, we recommend that steps 4 and 5 are required when the investment case is made.
